An Introduction

Taking inspiration from the marigold, a flower known for its resilience and vibrant energy, the Marigold Piano Quartet brings warmth and intensity to their performances. Formed in Amsterdam in 2022, the group consists of Dutch violinist Ruña ‘t Hart, British violist Connie Pharoah, Dutch cellist Kalle de Bie, and Dutch-Chinese pianist Mengjie Han. Despite being a recent addition to the chamber music scene, they have already made a strong impression, with performances at the Concertgebouw and features on Dutch classical Radio 4.

The quartet embodies a passionate and sincere approach to chamber music, exploring repertoire from all eras. Their musical journey has been deeply influenced by the mentorship of Eberhart Feltz, whose guidance has played a key role in shaping their artistic voice. They have also honed their craft through masterclasses with world-renowned musicians, including Luc-Marie Aguera of the Ysaÿe Quartet and Marc Danel of the Danel Quartet.
